Design of a decanter commemorating the inaugural project in the partnership between Bowmore and Aston Martin.
In detail
We worked with our friends at Burgess studio to design the Black Bowmore DB5 1964 decanter, a striking concept that brings together an iconic whiskey and a legendary car in a decanter of equal parts.
The glassware contains Black Bowmore 1964, an iconic black single malt whiskey. It is housed within a genuine Aston Martin DB5 piston head. After building a precise 3D model of the piston head we designed the glassware to fit within it giving consideration to real world constraints such as vacuity volume and neck thickness.
Visual Balance
Together with Burgess Studio we problem solved design issues until a visual balance was found between glass and metal, the essence of both the car and the whiskey in a single stunning design.
